What a waste of a point. Bed bugs came out of my bed, so I left for another hotel within 20 minutes. They refused a refund, saying they had offered us another room. But after bugs came out in that building, who knows what else might be there? The place was dirty and dark, and their response was terrible. They even claimed we’d never complained about bugs. Don’t go, and if you’ve booked already, I recommend cancelling.

Avoid this place. Dust and dirt were everywhere, the carpets had hair on them, and I found crumbs and an eyelash on the floor. The bathroom smelled awful and the drains hadn’t been cleaned. There was a stain on the bedsheets. I asked for the room to be cleaned, and a staff member said they’d send the cleaner the next day. I was out all day, expecting to return to a clean room, but it looked exactly the same. I took more photos and videos. When I called about a refund, I was told the manager was in hospital and they didn’t know when he’d be back to discuss it. How is there no backup manager? Avoid at all costs!

Breakfast arrived on time each day, but it was never fresh. The rooms were absolutely filthy, with no clean towels, toilet paper, or soap. It felt extremely unsafe for women travelling alone. A housekeeper walked straight into our room without knocking while my wife and I were undressed. I had to yell at him several times before he left.

We were in a clean room with a semi-private kitchen shared with just one other room, and the location made it easy to walk into Old Town and see the sights. We had a great stay, despite being a bit wary after reading some reviews. Before the trip I emailed to check the check-in arrangements, since someone had said we had to go to their sister hotel. That wasn’t true, we could go straight to the apartment. Check-in was simple: we called the number on the intercom through WhatsApp, and the receptionist explained the door codes. Once we were in, they sent all the codes in a message for us to refer to. We started with one pillow each, but after I messaged, two more arrived within an hour. On day two we noticed the food vendor on the street outside. The woman there was lovely, and the food was really yummy, so it became our daily breakfast.
