Hotel Alf

We stayed as a group for a week and ordered lunch and dinner as well. They made a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. They were especially attentive to guests with dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free meals. The restaurant is definitely the highlight, particularly for breakfast, which was one of the best I've had. There was a large choice of fruit and vegetables, healthy options, good coffee, and plenty of other things. The hotel itself is simple and clean, with nice rooms, comfortable beds, good internet, and very kind staff. I highly recommend the restaurant.

You get a low standard for a low price. Each room generally shares a bathroom and toilet with one other room. The walls between the room and the hallway by the bathroom don't block voices well, so you can hear your neighbors using the toilet. With three guests next door, for example, that could get pretty annoying. At least you don't share the room with strangers like you would in a hostel.

A practical, affordable place near the city center, with free parking as a big plus. Reception is open 24 hours, and negotiated prices are available for longer stays. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels are provided, though there's no kettle for making a hot drink. Breakfast is optional and served in a second building. It’s a good spot if you work at Enterprise Center, about a 10-minute walk away.

The staff were generally nice, and there were vegan options. But the internet connection wasn't stable. Our room wasn't cleaned once during the week, and when the toilet paper ran out, nobody seemed to care. After I asked, I was given a roll with eye rolling. The owner also didn't provide enough water for lunch for the whole group they were hosting, and wouldn't let us take water from the breakfast area even though it was accessible. Maybe they were being greedy, and they watched us when we got it.
