Hyatt Place Krakow

Our room was well equipped for what we needed, with a view of the park covered in snow. The staff were courteous and efficient, and the restaurant served good food at reasonable prices with great service. We spent four nights here in January, and it's one of the best city hotels we've stayed in. The Old Town is a 20-minute walk, which suited us, and there's a mini market around the corner plus Blonia bistro a short walk away.

In December 2025, I had a customer service experience that left me with a very poor impression. I've been a loyal Hyatt guest and top-tier Lifetime Globalist for over 37 years. I had a reservation at the Hyatt Place in Krakaw, the only Hyatt in Poland, but had to return to the States because my granddaughter was born early. The price was higher than usual at the time. I never checked in, but a receptionist working that evening mistakenly marked me as checked in and credited the stay. I only found out when the survey arrived, and called customer service right away to explain. That error could have been fraud and created unnecessary work for customer service. Because I hadn't cancelled, they charged me for one night. I had a lot on my mind and explained the situation to management, but they still wouldn't waive the first-night fee. I've never had this kind of experience with Hyatt before. General managers have usually been understanding with loyal guests. I would have understood if they charged me but offered to waive the first night when I returned. Instead, emails from the staff left me with a negative impression. I admitted my mistake, but felt they were greedy for taking the money. They did acknowledge their own mistake and said they were working on a change. Please be cautious. I told management I would post a low review. It felt like generating income mattered more to this hotel than keeping a future guest.

The rooms are modern, nice and quite spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with plenty to eat. We stayed for a couple of nights, and the main downside was the walk to the center, a good 20-30 minutes. In colder weather that could be a drag, especially with young children.

Everyone I spoke with, including the servers, was really friendly and helpful. I only speak English and had no trouble communicating. I arrived before check-in time, and the staff found me a room early, though that's not something they can promise for everyone. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
