The room had everything we needed, and the location was amazing: a corner shop is across the road, and the old town is about a 7-minute walk away. The provider was quick and professional whenever we got in touch, and I’d stay again. The room itself was good, though not great. It smelled a little of cigarettes when we arrived, and the odd pool-like floor tiles weren’t kind to our feet.

It’s about a 20-minute walk to the square, and the room is basic but cosy. There’s a late-night shop right outside the apartment. Parking was a problem: there’s none on site, street parking is very unlikely to be free, and the recommended car parks were full.

We arrived at 1 a.m. for a late check-in and found the room hadn’t been cleaned. The sheets and towels had already been used, so we had to sleep in someone else’s bedding, with no idea how long it had been there. After we messaged reception, they came to sort it out the next day at about 3 p.m. There was no compensation, not even the night’s money back or a small gift. That was very unprofessional and a big reason I wouldn’t recommend the place. There’s no shampoo or body soap either, so bring your own. The room wasn’t as nice as the best angles in the website photos, though it wasn’t bad, just an average hotel room. The bed was awful. Once the sheets were changed, we noticed the mattress sloped by about 5-6°, like trying to sleep on a ramp. My wife couldn’t sleep for two hours, so we switched sides and found the other side sloped too. The TV is very old, with no smart menus or international channels, only Polish ones. About half seemed to let you switch the movie audio to English, though we don’t watch TV anyway. The antenna was detached, so check the back if there’s no signal. The pans also looked unsafe: the finish, probably Teflon, was coming off after someone scratched the surface badly. I’d be afraid to eat from them. You only get one chip for the room, so you can’t split up and meet back there later. The old town is about a 15-minute walk away, an average distance. It’s not too bad, but not great either, and looks closer on the map. There were some good points: the room has AC, plenty of kitchen dishes, a stove, and a nice shower with good pressure and warm water. The bathroom’s many mirrors make it feel bigger, and there’s a lot of lighting in the room. The bar seats wobble and feel unsafe. The room needs investment. I’d give it four stars if the relevant service had been provided.

The apartments were clean and nice, around a 15-minute walk from the old town. We found Uber very cheap, about £2 to the old town and around £11 to the airport. We booked two full-day trips, and both times the operators picked us up and dropped us back at the apartment. Check-in had a small hitch because our code wouldn’t work to collect the keys, but I messaged the owners on WhatsApp and they fixed it in under 10 minutes.
