Mercure Krakow Stare Miasto (Old Town)

We arrived before check-in, but the staff let us leave our bags while the room was being prepared and gave us recommendations. From that warm welcome through checkout, everyone was helpful, and there was always someone around to answer questions. The hotel was clean, smelled nice, and stayed warm throughout. We added breakfast one morning before an activity, and enjoyed the selection and hot food made to order. For our 4:30am departure, they thoughtfully prepared takeaway bags with water, fruit, sandwiches, yogurt, and a Polish dessert. The whole stay was stress-free and we really enjoyed it. I'd definitely recommend it.

The hotel has a good location, quality rooms, and great staff. Special mention for bartender Kacper, who understood exactly what I wanted and made a vodka martini up with a twist, extra dry. Language barriers often make it hard for me to get the drink I like, but he handled it with friendly, professional style and grace.

The restaurant on the main floor was a highlight: excellent food in an upscale atmosphere that made dinner feel special. Breakfast, included for us, was fantastic each morning with lots of good choices. There's also a small wine shop between reception and the restaurant. Our room was comfortable, and having a refrigerator was handy. The thermostat was hard to manage consistently. I first thought it was just me, but several other guests mentioned the same trouble. Service was excellent throughout, with quick, easy check-in and friendly, professional staff. I loved the hotel's design. Pink and purple details give it a fun, stylish, royal feel, and the picture frames in the lobby seemed to come to life. Even the motivating sayings in the elevator made us smile every day. The location is convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring Krakow. That personality made our stay memorable, and I'd recommend it.

Jedrzej arranged our Auschwitz Birkenau tour with Krakow Direct before we arrived, and the driver and tour guide were great too. Thanks as well to Patryk, Mateusz, and Pawel for looking after us. We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Mercure Krakow Stare Miasto, and will return. The hotel has a comfortable room, a great breakfast selection, and excellent food and drink. We especially liked its look and feel, and found it very family friendly. It's well placed for Krakow's main sights, close to the train station, with easy airport access.
