For a school trip, it was an okay stay for the price. The hostel is pretty run down, and the rooms varied in quality, though overall we managed fine. It could be difficult to reach anyone when we needed something. Breakfast was at a restaurant a couple of minutes away, which was okay.

If you only need a bed for the night, this place is okay. Our shared room was very basic, with just a sink, fridge and bathroom with a shower. The beds were small and had hard mattresses. The room was mostly clean, and for the price I can’t complain too much.

The information on hostelsworld.com is wrong: check-in isn’t possible after 10 pm, and you may not be able to get in at all then. The handling of this was unprofessional, and we only got inside because a full-time resident helped us. Checkout is at 11, not 13 as stated. The reception wasn’t clearly marked, so it was hard to find. There was no hot water for baths, and the rooms were very poor quality. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location was fairly central, though I didn’t feel very safe there. The hotel is unusual, with big rooms full of old historic furniture, including a tapestry and some very large paintings on the walls. Things weren’t in great condition, but it was fairly clean and the beds were comfortable enough. Seems ideal for stag parties and the like.
