Moon Hostel Kraków

Getting to the main station was easy, about a 10-minute tram ride, and the old town square and major tourist attractions were around a 20-minute walk away. I had a very pleasant stay at Moon Hostel in Krakow. The rooms and facilities were well equipped and maintained, and the staff were helpful with questions about travelling around Krakow and sightseeing.

The rooms were the biggest problem for our group. Some were only okay, while others were filthy, with blood on the sheets and body hair. A few bathroom locks didn’t work, the shower drained badly, and the heaters seemed limited and not very effective. Breakfast was poor, and there wasn’t a proper place to eat it. The lobby didn’t seem suited to the number of guests it could hold. Staff also weren’t around much outside expected arrival times, and we saw one guest arrive without anyone there to welcome them. The reception at Moon hostel felt cold and unwelcoming from the start. There may be basic room service, but my experience was negative. I can’t recommend this place and would advise avoiding it.

We found the rooms clean and had the basics we needed, including towels and a refrigerator. There were plenty of power outlets in each room, and the staff were kind, helpful, and spoke good English. The place was fine for students or travelers who are out in town all day. The only issue was the hot water in the showers, though hopefully that was a one-off.

The lack of staff to look after everyone’s comfort made the noise especially frustrating. Quiet hours are 2200-0600, but guests partied in their rooms with loud music, shouting, and jumping around. I’m heavily pregnant and was kept awake for three nights. I would never recommend staying here. Go to any other hotel or hostel in Krakow.
