Hotel Pod Roza

Dinner in the restaurant is worth having, and everything there is top notch. Our king bed was very comfortable, but the roller bed for our child was a joke, the mattress was so thin we could feel the wooden boards underneath. Otherwise, a fabulous hotel.

We loved staying here. The hotel is right in the heart of Krakow, and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Service was excellent, and breakfast was very good too. Highly recommend it, an ideal place.

Set right on Floriańska Street, this is a compact luxury hotel with loads of character in the heart of the Old Town. Its small underground spa, in atmospheric vaulted “dungeons,” is one of a kind and feels world class, with lovely L’Occitane amenities. The restaurant is exceptional, especially the strong-value lunch menu. For the price, this may be the best luxury hotel value in Kraków right now. A great boutique option if you want an intimate stay, historic character, and serious wellness.

The room had a nice view of St. Mary’s Church and was fine apart from a strange, unpleasant smell. The staff weren’t very welcoming, and could have shown more kindness and smiled. Breakfast was a disaster for a 5-star hotel. There were flies on the cold cuts and the cheese was dried out. The waitress insisted it wasn’t included in our rate, even though it was, and we had to sort out the confusion at reception. Check-in was an even bigger problem. Although I’d paid for the stay in full, I couldn’t check in without giving a credit card number, which was then stored in the hotel system. This wasn’t a temporary pre-authorization hold, but permanent storage of the card details. Without a credit card, I wouldn’t have been able to use a stay I’d already paid for. That’s far below 5-star standards. There are better hotels in Krakow at this price, with welcoming staff, pleasant rooms, and truly outstanding breakfasts. I don’t recommend this place.
