Tower Street Apartments

The location was good, about a 5-10 minute walk to the old town market square, and the building felt safe and secure. I stayed three nights in May in a studio with a loft bed reached by ladders, but the room never felt relaxing. The bed was awkward to get to, so lounging there during the day wasn't practical, and the sofa was tiny with nowhere else to sit. The air conditioning ran all night every night and kept us awake. You can't switch it off from the room, and the owner didn't turn it off when I asked. Trams were very loud every 5 minutes until 1 AM. There was no hand soap, and we had only a few towels, all very small. The room was clean, though I found an Oreo under the bed, so it didn't seem to have been cleaned thoroughly.

There isn't a reception or anyone around during the day or night. You get a code by email to open the doors and access the key. The apartment is small but pretty nice, though the couch could do with replacing. Getting up the stairs to the bed is challenging even when you're sober, so don't try it drunk, LOL. The area is fantastic for a hotel, close to the city center and train station, and the weekly price was decent. Hope to come back someday.

Getting around is easy from this very well located apartment, with all the attractions just a short tram ride away. Entry was easy and unmanned, and the room was clean. But it isn't suitable for a family with a child. The stairs up to the bed are very narrow, so you need to be careful climbing up and down when going to the toilet.

It's a nice little apartment close to the old town, but the bed is reached by a ladder, so it's not suitable if you have difficulty walking or climbing. We only got one towel each for our 4-day trip, which wasn't great, and with no reception or anyone to ask, we couldn't get more towels or other essentials. The price was the same as a hotel, so I'd probably have preferred one with fresh towels and cleaning service. It's okay, just missing a few small touches.
