Villa Zakamycze Airport

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, with special thanks to Susan. The beds were very nice, and the rooms seemed well soundproofed. The hotel itself looked a bit worn, though different tradespeople were working on renovations during the day, without too much noise. I'll definitely come back.

The rooms were spotless, and the indoor pool, open until 11pm, was great. There's also a lovely grill area out back for guests to use, plus a fire pit. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our amazing stay. It's so close to the airport, yet it feels miles away from anywhere. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.

The quiet location and friendly staff were lovely, and the heated pool was nice. But a power cut, which wasn't the Villas fault, left the pool room completely dark while my wife and children, aged 2 and 4, were in the water. I couldn't see them. After finding them and getting them safely to the side, I had to crawl up the stairs in total darkness to reach the lounge, where a few candles were lit. At reception, there was no working torch, so the girl had to use her phone for light. There is no safety lighting in the pool. Someone could have drowned. It was a horrible experience, and it made me worry about fire safety too. We were in the separate bungalow, where there are no smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, or safety lighting. I asked about fire safety. There were a few battery smoke alarms in the main building, but still no fire extinguishers or emergency plan. The bungalow looks like a converted garage. It's small, a little grubby, and has narrow, steep stairs. There's mould in the bathroom, and several electrical sockets are loose or badly installed, even though the bungalow has only been used for six months. There's no oven, just a single hob, which made cooking meals difficult. Upstairs, the mezzanine has a mattress on the floor. The ceiling is too low to stand under, and the wall by the stairs is made of just a few wooden slats. A child could easily fall through to the floor below. This is not a safe place to stay, especially with children.

A pizzeria is just two minutes from the guesthouse, and the restaurants in the area are very good. With a rental car, both Krakow and the airport are relatively close. The guesthouse is really nice and very clean, the staff are friendly, and breakfast is excellent. My one suggestion is to label breakfast foods, since some people may have allergies.
