Wiślna Main Square Apartments self check-in

The location is hard to beat, just a one-minute walk from the main square in a very safe area. I was nervous about staying here after reading the reviews, especially as a solo traveller, but I had a very pleasant experience and would happily return to Krakow and stay again. I hadn't heard from the team before arriving, but I'd booked through love holidays. I emailed them and they replied quickly and were extremely helpful. Check-in was easy, and the contact details are all online if you need them. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, enough pillows and towels, a brilliant shower, and WiFi that worked without any issues. There were a few imperfections, but it's a cheap apartment, so I didn't expect it to be perfect. The stairs and building can feel a bit daunting, though it's a typical old Polish building. Noise wasn't a problem for me. In a busy city, a hotel this close to the main square is bound to have some noise, and Krakow never sleeps. My only fault was the heating. The radiator is set to one temperature and can't be adjusted. I left the window open during the day and used the air conditioning unit overnight. It was about as noisy as a fan at home.

The location is excellent, but I definitely wouldn't come back. The WiFi didn't work, and the heating didn't either. We only had two heaters. The room was sold for four people, but it had a double bed and a sofa that wasn't a sofa bed and could only fit one child. There was no daily cleaning or towel change.

The apartment area was well maintained, and the luggage lockers were easy to use. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, and the cleanliness stood out. We had a Deluxe room. It was small, but had the usual hotel amenities: towels, a refrigerator, a TV, a coffee maker with coffee and tea, and even earplugs. For a short stay, it's excellent value for money. We'd been a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews, but our experience made us think they were exaggerated. The entrance is like those in historic Krakow buildings, with stairs and an old fashioned feel, but nothing scary.

The location, right in the Old Town, is the one real advantage. The room was clean and had a spacious bed, but it was very small. The stairwell entrance was awful, with a staircase like something out of a horror movie. You could die on it. The bed was right beside a radiator turned all the way up, and there was no thermostat to adjust it. To avoid suffocating, we had to open a window or switch on a super loud fan. The room had a TV and refrigerator, but not many outlets. The sink is so close to the toilet that you can brush your teeth while sitting there. We won't be back.
