Continental Krynica Morska

It used to be good value, but that's changed a lot. I've stayed at this hotel every year for about 5 years, and lately the quality of many things has dropped sharply while the prices have gone up. There are plenty of reasons I wouldn't recommend it anymore, at least for now, though I hope things improve because staying there as it is now is not pleasant. The restaurant is one of the biggest disappointments. On my first visits it felt like a three-star hotel's restaurant, but this year it seemed closer to a one-star place. The buffet used to be superb and is now down to just a few dishes. Tables are cramped and hard to get around while carrying food, even though a third of the room is closed off and empty. The cheap, plastic-like pads have replaced proper tablecloths, and four chairs are squeezed around one small table, leaving little room for place settings. Eating there has become unpleasant. Rooms have gone downhill too. A broken safe and plastic cups are small things, but they show how poor the quality control is. Ground-floor balcony tables have been removed, so there's nowhere to set down a drink, just chairs. When more than two guests share a room, such as a large family in a two-bedroom room, they only issue 2 key-cards and won't provide more. Everyone has to keep swapping cards to get back into the room. With temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and higher, the rooms are unbearable because there's no air conditioning. The restaurant, reception, and lobby have air conditioning systems, but all the units are switched off, leaving guests hot and sweaty with nowhere to cool down. I've stayed in many hotels around Europe, and the high prices don't reflect the quality here at all. I hope the hotel turns things around.
