Hotel Krynica

A nice place.

For a resort aiming to be top class, it has a lot of shortcomings. The owner was grumpy and unfriendly, and wouldn't respond to requests to fix things. The resort advertises access to the beach by the lagoon, but the way there goes through mud. Our feet got wet and our shoes muddy every time. We asked the manhole and the hotel to put down even one board, but got no response. The beach can be reached by electric cart, but I expected a ride into town too, since it's quite far away. That wasn't available, even for a fee. We had to book and pay for electric carts from other companies instead of using the service suggested by the hotel. The room had a 15-year-old 32-inch TV and a separate terrestrial TV decoder, with two remotes needed to use them. At this price, that's a substandard multimedia setup. I can't imagine staying here without internet on the TV these days, especially when a 42-inch or larger one can be bought for 1500 złoty without needing two remotes. It's a disaster, particularly on cold, rainy days when we spend more time at the resort. The terraces have no walls between the paths, so there's no real privacy from the neighbors. The advertised "home-made meats" were at most one buffet item. I expected all the items to be home-made, so that felt like another falsehood. There was no microwave, and the air-conditioning units were right next to the terrace doors. Their humming fan made it uncomfortable to relax. They should be on the roof, at the back of the building, or somewhere away from guests relaxing on the terrace. The worst problem was the toilet across the narrow bathroom. When getting up, you hit your head on the wall or have to maneuver sideways. There were only four hangers for two people, which felt petty. The cleanliness, elevator, and views from the room were the only things that calmed us down enough to avoid a row with the owner. The landlord was a disaster. He'd have done his image more good by not showing up or speaking at all.

The terraces are great, with beautiful views of the bay, and the hotel is surrounded by greenery. Although the walk to the beach on the sea side is relatively long, the free hotel melex transfer makes up for it. It's a very pleasant place for children and adults, with an elevator. The staff and owner are very friendly. I recommend it!
