Hotel Saol

The rooms were clean and had what we needed for a short stay, though they felt dated and could use some modernization. The hotel has decent amenities, but parking was a bit overcrowded, and breakfast was too, with not enough seats. I also couldn’t understand why there was a kettle but no tea or coffee.

Checking out turned a stay that should have been simple into a mess. I booked through booking.com, where taxes and fees are included, but as I was leaving, a blonde woman told me I still owed money for them. I said I’d already paid, and she asked me to prove it. I had to leave my luggage, go out to my warming car, get my phone, and show her the details. Even that wasn’t enough. She called people and looked through books while I got later and later. I tried contacting booking, but it was out of hours because I was overseas. The woman wouldn’t let it go; when I finally said I had to leave, she got nasty and told me to just go. She ruined what could have been a nice experience and made me late.

A nice place, though it feels stuck in time.
