I'm an international student looking for a room.

This place was a disaster. We rent rooms in Kwidzyn often, but I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone, and I don't think we'll return. The owners need to clean it up. The cookware was in terrible shape: the microwave and frying pans couldn't be used, and the pots were dirty. The kettle needed descaling before we could make coffee, so I went to the shop around the corner for citric acid 🤣🤣🤣. There was just one teaspoon, and the mugs were mismatched and dirty. The curtains and drapes were awful too. Really, everything was a mess. Owners, wake up, this is a disaster.

There are a lot of lights and wall switches, and once I tried them, the room was actually well lit. One bulb flickered now and then and another didn't work, but there were 12 altogether. The room itself is in decent condition, though the walls have odd holes and stains, and the beds are a little worn. The soundproofing was REALLY poor. I could hear someone across the street playing music on their phone, and the water running through the pipes and toilet in the apartment upstairs was deafening. The room also stayed cold. The radiator eventually felt very warm, perhaps it just takes a long time to heat up, but I was still sitting here in winter trousers and a sweater wishing I had a blanket. At first, the room looked gloomy and in need of renovation, and my wife was upset when we walked in. Shoe puddles formed on the floor, with nothing around to wipe them up. The photos showed a different room too. It was supposed to have a chair, which mattered to me since I bring books and read a lot in the evenings, but there wasn't one. After I went shopping for 30 minutes, the room was still cold even though the radiator was turned all the way up. My wife said she could hear everything through the wall while I was out. Since we were planning to spend three days in Kwidzyn, we moved to another hotel. My request for free cancellation was denied, so I came back to take another look and give an objective review. There are more comfortable places in town for the same price. This owner is in the Genius program, so you can get 15% off, which was why we booked here. I'd say the room works if you're in Kwidzyn for work or just need somewhere to sleep, especially with Genius Level 3 status on Booking.com. It's not a good fit for couples wanting a relaxing weekend. The room isn't bad, exactly, but it has its quirks.

The price didn't match the standard at all. We booked a room with two beds and a sofa bed, but were given a different room from the one shown in the photos. The building looked awful in person, despite the nice website pictures. The floorboards were torn, the shower was dirty, the bed was worn, and the sheets were soiled and had hair on them. There was dirt everywhere and a stale, musty smell. It was an unpleasant stay, and we slept very badly. We definitely wouldn't come back under those conditions.
