Troll

Troll and Elff Guesthouses in Cisna are a special find in the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains. A warm, welcoming family runs both places and really makes guests feel at home. Elff is modern and thoughtfully equipped, with spacious high-standard bathrooms, a fully working kitchenette, very comfortable beds with bedside lamps, smart TV with Netflix, and strong Wi-Fi. Troll serves delicious homemade breakfasts, lunches, and dinners prepared with local ingredients and care, and the hosts are genuinely kind and helpful. The location is right by trails leading to some of the most beautiful Bieszczady peaks, with scenic Lake Solina only a short drive away. Cisna also has cultural events, live rock and folk concerts, and gatherings with painters, sculptors, and musicians. It’s a lively, artistic village all year. We’d recommend it to anyone. It has something of the Lake District in the UK, but with its own Bieszczady soul. A great choice in any season! 🌄❄️

The portions were generous, the food was very good, and there was plenty of choice. Staff were nice and it wasn’t crowded. You do have to order at the bar, then they bring the food out to you. Normally that would cost them a star, but with the Covid restrictions in place, it wasn’t much of a hassle. Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely dinner in the outdoor area, with a great atmosphere and good cold beer on tap. It’s a unique traditional building with a grass-covered roof, and the bathroom was clean and had all the facilities.

Troll was great, with a good atmosphere and plenty of outdoor space to sit in the sun with a beer and a meal. I had masove pirogy and zurek. Both were really tasty, and the portions were enough. Prices are average, which is a big plus for a restaurant like this.
