Podhalański Dworek SPA

A top-notch place with an authentic Goralski style!

We stayed a few days at Podhalański Dworek in Leśnica and had an excellent time overall. It’s tucked away somewhere quiet with lovely views, but the larger towns and tourist spots are close by, so it works well as a base for outings. There’s a large public parking lot, Wi-Fi, a shared kitchenette with a fridge, and a jacuzzi you can book. The water is changed after each use, which felt reassuring. The hostess was especially kind, welcoming, and helpful. The food was a highlight. Breakfast is buffet-style, lunch comes in generous, tasty portions, and there’s dessert with every meal. Coffee and tea are available around the clock, though not having a coffee machine may be a real drawback. Our room was fairly spacious, had a balcony, and stayed warm enough, but it’s showing its age. The cabinet under the bathroom sink and the mattresses could use an update. It was reasonably clean, with a few details that could be better. Towels were supplied, but they smelled of cigarettes, so we non-smokers couldn’t use them. There was also soap and a reasonably functional hairdryer. The bathroom was small and had no shelf for toiletries, so we made do with a stool. The mattresses in our room for three were the biggest problem. They were worn enough that we could feel and hear the springs with almost every movement, making it hard to sleep. We tried turning them over and switching them around, but that didn’t help. After hiking in the mountains all day, we needed a good rest. In the end, poor sleep and back pain made us leave early. The location, food, and warm atmosphere are real strengths, but better beds would make a big difference to the stay.

I came across this place on Booking.com. It’s a big property with all the equipment you need, including a grill and jacuzzi, plus a large two-floor apartment. Surrounded by nature, it’s a really peaceful spot. I love it.

The rooms were clean and up to a good standard, and the breakfasts were both tasty and varied. The owners were incredibly helpful and polite. When I couldn’t get to Białka at the end, they kindly offered me a lift. They also sell homemade oscypek made fresh. There’s no ski room, which is the one downside. I didn’t try the jacuzzi, so I can’t say anything about it. I was very pleased with the stay and can wholeheartedly recommend the place.
