Great choice for a big group. The guy managing the hostel really goes above and beyond!

Quiet hostel, good beds and great wi-fi. The receptionist was friendly too.

The staff were very pleasant, the location was excellent, and I came away with a positive impression. I'd rate it 3.5 if I could, since a few small things brought it down. Our room was separate from the main hotel, so we had to walk through snow to get to breakfast. The room's meant to have a Victorian feel, but the details looked cheaply done: badly wallpapered wardrobe, very basic bedside lamps that seemed Ikea-like and didn't fit, cheap-looking curtains, and a bathroom completely at odds with the style, including a strange rose-patterned toilet. The main part of the hotel is charming, so the room felt like a budget imitation of it. The soap wouldn't lather, and the towels were old, not hotel quality, and had no smell. Breakfast was just okay, like at a guesthouse in Zakopane. I would've liked scrambled eggs, better cold cuts, whole-wheat bread, and decent coffee. I'd gladly pay more for a better breakfast. To me, the hotel service is worth 150-180 PLN, compared with the 240 I paid. A few small improvements would make a difference, especially with such pleasant service. Parking didn't affect my rating since I knew it wasn't available.

The quiet was a nice surprise during my stay. A few steps away there's another place where guests are loud and the police sometimes turn up, but here it was peaceful and the other guests were polite. Wiktoriański Hostel has a cozy atmosphere, stylish interiors, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, so I'd recommend it. Rooms are modest, and you can choose one with a bathroom inside or one with the bathroom in the hallway. The tenement building has very high ceilings, which can make it chilly, though there are radiators and blankets in the rooms, and I stayed warm. Sitting for a long time on the hallway couch was the only time I felt cold; a bed blanket helped. Walls are thin, so if people are loud nearby or outside, you'll hear them. Then again, it's just a short walk from Piotrowska Street. I liked the interesting decor, with antiques, paintings, drawings, and lamps. Take a photo first, for some reason ;) The duvet, soft blanket, comfy stuffed pillow, option to ask for another pillow, and lovely custom-made bedding were all nice touches. The reception area is spacious, and there's always a receptionist. Mr. Mikołaj and Mr. Michał are very nice guys ;) Breakfast costs a nominal 10 PLN and everything was fresh, but it was cold and pretty basic, which is common for hostels. If you expect more, choose a hotel rather than complain later.
