After a hike in the area, our group of 24 ate at this restaurant. We preordered, and all 24 portions came out of the kitchen in an orderly way. The service was great, and the food was fantastic, especially the Kurzacka De Volaille. Gracjan, the owner, was there and helped everything run smoothly. I highly recommend it for a meal with a group of friends around Lubawka.

The food at Zajazd Magrani completely changed my first impression. At first it looked like a typical Polish roadside inn, the sort of place for weddings and big family gatherings where the food is just okay and prices can be steep. I was very wrong. I ordered the classic schabowy with baked potatoes and surówka, and it was a revelation. The pork was golden and crisp outside, juicy and tender inside. It's the best schabowy I've had in Poland, even better than my grandmother's, I'd say. The potatoes were flavorful and beautifully roasted with fresh dill, and the fresh, lively surówka balanced the meal. Everything tasted lovingly made, and the presentation was surprisingly refined. My father-in-law is famously hard to please when it comes to restaurant food. After one bite, he called it the best schabowy he'd ever had. I've never heard him praise a restaurant meal like that before. The portions and quality make the prices totally fair. Zajazd Magrani is a hidden gem, and I'm already planning another visit. If you're nearby and want a meal that beats your expectations, just go.
