Hostel Królewska

The location was great, and the shared areas were tidy, with several comfortable sofas. There was free tea and coffee in the kitchen. My room, bed, toilet, and bathroom were all clean and comfortable, and the room looked like the pictures. One woman was very friendly. She didn't speak English herself, but her smile, positive attitude, and efforts to communicate made my days. Other staff members do speak English, so there was no need to worry about that. The big drawback was how thin the walls and door were. I could hear every footstep and even people breathing through the closed door.

Really clean and pleasant place, with helpful staff and a great location. It was very hot in our room because there was no AC. That's my only issue, but in general I'd highly recommend it.

I spent five days here in March 2024. The best thing about the hostel is the location: minimarkets are right nearby, Lublin centre is at your feet, and getting around by transport is easy. It offers great value, and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious, with plenty of room for luggage, and I liked having fast, strong WiFi, a desk for work or study, and a balcony looking towards the city centre. The communal kitchen had a large fridge, cutlery, and a microwave. The doors felt secure, and I had no security issues to report. Comfort was a weak point. The mattress and pillows were old and very soft, the curtains weren't long enough to block the window light, and the radiator didn't work. The electric heater wasn't enough to keep the temperature comfortable either. The shower water was only mild, not hot, and the bathroom is in the broader kitchen area, which could feel awkward. Cleanliness could be better too, as the communal areas often looked a bit neglected, though the standard was still above average. Overall, I rate the experience 4/5. Cleanliness 3/5, comfort 2/5, space 5/5, amenities 5/5, security 5/5, bathroom facilities 2/5, location 5/5, value for money 5/5, staff friendliness 5/5.

Being right in the centre of the City old Town, you'd expect it to be noisy, but it was quiet and peaceful at night. The rooms were clean and the common space was pretty nice. My one star comes off because there aren't enough bathrooms during busy hours, and they're not in the best shape.
