IBB Hotel Grand Hotel Lublin

Being right across from Lithuania Square (Plac Litewski), with the Multimedia Fountain Fontanna Multimedialna w Lublinie there, is a great location. Breakfast was very good, and the building, originally a bank built in 1900, looks especially nice lit up at night. It served as "German House" during the Nazi occupation. Our third-floor room had a tiny window, support beams, and a sloping roof that meant you had to watch your head. The main stairs only go to the second floor, then you have to wind through several corridors to find the stairs up. The shower stall is very small, and water escaped under the door onto the bathroom floor. The water dispenser on our floor didn't work during our entire stay. There were two glass bottles for filling at the filtered dispenser, which offers cold or room-temperature still water and chilled sparkling water. The room had tissues, body lotion, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, a kettle, tea and coffee, and a minibar in the fridge. No hair conditioner was provided. Our room didn't have a safe, though the information booklet mentions one, so some rooms must have them. The room itself was probably intended for servants, and I'd avoid the third floor.

The rooms were a high standard, and we had free water and Wi-Fi. Staff were very nice, and breakfast was great. It's right by the old town. I'd recommend it.

I first ended up at IBB Grand Hotel Lublin almost by chance. Since 2022, I've used Lublin as a stopover on trips to and from Kyiv following the full Russian invasion of Ukraine. After hundreds of stays in hotels across Europe, North America, and East Asia, I can say this has become one of my favorites anywhere. I've stayed seven-eight times already, always look forward to coming back, and hope my next stays will be longer.

The breakfast buffet was included and yummy, and the rooms were big, clean, and lovely, with high ceilings. The Grand sits right at the edge of the Old Town, so step out and turn right to reach the best part of Lublin. It was one of our favorite hotels in Europe for the price. We'll come back whenever we're in Lublin.
