Hotel Wolin

The staff didn’t seem service-minded. They stood together talking, and I didn’t find them helpful. English-speaking employees are a must, too. Finding your way around was difficult: there were no signs in the hallways pointing to the rooms, and no arrows or directions to the sauna, mist sauna, or Turkish bath. Breakfast was a struggle with over 200 people eating at once and only two coffee machines. They need 6-8. There was plenty of different food, but little of it had much taste, and nothing was labeled to say what it was. This hotel needs to look at other spas in Europe and learn from them. Until these things change, I won’t come back.

We had a lot of fun, even though the pool, jacuzzi, and bowling alley are a bit dated. We weren’t expecting much from those, and they were still enjoyable. The hotel worked well for a quick weekend away, and we got a nice deal with breakfast and dinner included. As a vegetarian with a hearty appetite, I enjoyed the food without any issues. The bar is well stocked, and you can play billiards over a beer. Great value for the price.

The room was pretty nice, except for a big spiderweb. The reception staff were lovely, but the bar guy was incredibly grumpy. When I asked for a mojito, his only answer was “No” 😄. On Saturday after 21:30, he said they’d run out of ice and couldn’t make any more drinks. We don’t know if that was true or if he just didn’t want to make them, but either way it wasn’t okay. Calling this a SPA-hotel feels like an overstatement. The pool was more like a public pool house, with loud kids, than a relaxing SPA. Breakfast was maybe okay, but dinner was probably the worst I’ve ever had. It reminded me of school food, and not the good kind.

Breakfast was simple but tasty, and the room was okay, though far too hot. The balcony had spiders and webs all over it, and the woman at reception wasn’t very nice. The hotel is also a bit away from the city centre, where the magic happens.
