Mielno Hotel Boutique

I needed breakfast before the usual service time, and that was no problem. A staff member said the full selection might not be available, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole buffet laid out in the morning. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the staff were cheerful and helpful. The hotel is clean, with a short walk through the neighborhood to the beach, and the area is calm. The staff are especially friendly. I’d gladly return and highly recommend it.

The pool is tiny, more like a child's paddling pool, so adults can't really swim in it. The hot water is its one good point. After 8:00 PM the pool, sauna, restaurant, and reception all close, leaving guests with nowhere to go outside their rooms. The hotel has no real 24-hour service, just a sign with a phone number once reception closes at 8:00 PM. The lobby is barely there, with two sofas by reception that aren't comfortable for guests. I don't see how this place qualifies as four stars. It misses a lot of the standards and feels more like a guesthouse with three-star comfort. Breakfast starts late, at 8:30 AM, and the restaurant only takes a la carte orders until 6:30 PM. My husband went at 6:32 PM and couldn't order anything, which seems unusual for a four-star hotel. There’s no phone, safe, or laundry bag in the rooms. A small child can stay free, but a travel cot costs extra, which feels contradictory for this rating. Bathrobes also cost extra, whereas other four-star hotels usually provide them in the room. If you expect four-star standards, I wouldn't choose this hotel. We'd stay somewhere else if we returned to Mielno.

Breakfast and dinner both had plenty to choose from, so there was something for everyone. Children might find the buffet less suitable, but a la carte food is available for an extra charge. The room was clean, with a TV and kettle and cups, and the bathroom was quite roomy with a shower. It's a small hotel, which I think is a plus. Parking costs 30 PLN per day, though there are plenty of free spots nearby. I didn't use the pool, so can't comment on it. I'd recommend staying here.

We were there in March, outside the season. The hotel was affordable, and the breakfast and dinner buffets were good for the price. The rooms were small but cozy and acceptably clean, though quite a few things were broken or barely working. There was no room service or phone. At check-in, reception told us smoking on balconies wasn't allowed, but people did it anyway, which I found absurd. The sauna was very hot after we asked reception to turn it on, and the showers were great. The pool was very small and cramped, but that didn't bother us. What did bother me was seeing guests walk into the pool straight from the sauna, drenched in sweat and without showering. The rules weren't explained clearly, and people generally didn't follow proper sauna etiquette. I couldn't order at the restaurant after 6:32 PM because, as the waitress explained, that was the rule. I'm surprised the hotel turns away food orders instead of meeting guests' expectations and earning extra income. Music played all the time, changing from breakfast music to rap. The water in the flower vases hadn't been changed and had turned green, which looked unappetizing. I found the service grumpy, without much sense of hospitality.
