The biggest problem for us was the bedding. I’ve travelled all over the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels, with all kinds of mattresses, but never one like this. These mattresses have so little density that when you lie down, your head and feet lift while your body seems to sink right into them. If you can sleep at all, you end up folded in half and wake with the usual aches from bad bedding. Maybe the owner likes sleeping on marshmallows, but guests expect a normal bed, whether firm or soft. We raised the issue and eventually asked to change rooms. Nobody came to check the mattresses or tried to find a solution. The receptionist just told us coldly and carelessly that all the beds were like that, there were no rooms left, and it wasn’t their fault. We slept badly for all three nights. I can’t imagine anyone sleeping well without even a minimum of mattress density. The laundry was another disappointment. The hotel book said clothes would be washed within 24 hours, but nothing was ready the next day. When I asked whether it would be ready that day, the receptionist said “may be”. We only got our clothes on the morning we left. The hotel itself is pretty, decorated in maritime blue and white, and has a cosy feel by the lake. Our room was spacious, and there’s a nice little pool. We had booked four months ahead, but our beautiful room faced only the car park, not the lake. The place is well situated, but the unacceptable bedding and negligent staff attitude mean we won’t return.

We had a very good dinner at the hotel restaurant, and breakfast was a buffet with scrambled eggs, meats, breads, salads, fresh fruit, cold cereals, and yogurt. Our two-night stay was enjoyable. The hotel was clean, the room lighting was better than in most hotels, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. There was lots of bathroom storage too, including drawers under the sink and counter space. It’s just across a small body of water from the main town, about a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants and souvenir shops. There’s no elevator, but most rooms are just one level up on the first floor. I’d definitely recommend it.

The top-floor room was a little hot, so I had to leave the window open to keep the air from getting stuffy. Wi-Fi was acceptable, though not great. Still, it was a very good experience at this nice boutique hotel. The breakfast buffet deserves special mention, with gourmet smoked hams, fish, and salads.

We went there with three children and couldn’t wait to get out. The hotel holds loud, closed private pool parties that go on until 3am. The owner or manager was completely incompetent. There were lots of big spiders and other bugs, and the room wasn’t cleaned for five days. Enjoy...

The breakfast buffet was amazing, served by very polite staff. Service was great and the room was nice, but the A/C needed servicing and squeaked all night.
