The bonfire was a great idea, and the hosts deserve credit for trying to make a stay work. The hostess was kind and resourceful, the welcome was warm, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was warm with hot water, getting to it was easy, and the organization was impressive. Still, this place is hard to find and far from everything, so a car feels essential. The street-facing rooms looked unfinished, with everything apparently connected to an external extension cord for the electrical wiring. Maybe the other areas are different. The soups were pretty good, especially the sauerkraut soup, but the main dishes had little taste and breakfast was mostly canned cold cuts. I spent a long time deciding on the rating, but it was possible to arrange things so the stay wasn't a total disaster. Best of luck to the hosts.

We just got back from Christmas with friends and had a lovely time. Lucynka is such a kind woman, with a heart of gold, and she really cares about the quality of the food. The meals were delicious and plentiful, just like home, and the kitchen staff were lovely too, making sure there was plenty for everyone. It all had a really family-like feel. We came with the whole family for Christmas and felt looked after in a way we haven't found at the other guesthouses we've tried. It really felt like being at Mom's. The owner's kindness and attention showed throughout our stay, and the homemade food was delicious and carefully prepared. Carols, a highland band and a sleigh ride added to that warm, homey Christmas feeling. It's the kind of place we'd want to come back to, and we recommend it wholeheartedly. The care and atmosphere are hard to put into words.

The food was the part that kept bringing me back after days out on the trails. Pork chop with fried cabbage, zraziki, varied breakfasts, homemade cake and excellent fruit compote were all delicious, nicely presented and served on time. I stayed two nights in a four-bed room with a TV, clean bathroom, reliable Wi-Fi and a work table with an armchair. There are kettles and coffee sets for guests, plus ping-pong, foosball and garden chess. The large dining room also suits groups and events such as christenings, communions, weddings, birthdays and name days. The quiet setting in Mszana Dolna is good for walks and bike rides. Nearby routes include Grunwald and Czarny Dział above town, and the Mały Szlak Beskidzki from Mszana. You can also reach Ćwilin on the yellow trail, Potaczkowa and Adamczykowa on the black, Lubogoszcz on the red and green, Szczebel on the black, Ostra and Ogorzała on the green, and Luboń Wielki on the red. In town there are the City Park and Manor House, St. Michael the Archangel Church, the old market square and the Jewish cemetery. There are things to do right at the property too, including bonfires, sleigh rides, horse-drawn carriage rides and bread-making classes, with a garden and playground for little ones. It seems suited to families, couples, solo travelers and larger groups. You can spend a quiet afternoon reading in the garden or head out walking and cycling, then come back to a good dinner.
