The buildings are in very good shape, with lots of exhibits and well-equipped workshops, including a watchmaker, pharmacy, and fire station. There’s plenty of information, and the staff are friendly; the guides know their subject well. Both the Skansen and the Galician Town make for a fascinating history lesson and a journey through time. I recommend visiting.

We went on May 1st for the season opening. The displays and demonstrations of different trades were interesting, and the place gives you a sense of life from 100 to 200 years ago and more. Sadly, there wasn’t a blacksmith demonstration that day. 😔

The staff really know their subjects, and everything is so well done. There’s a huge amount of history here, and the place is remarkable. Give it a full day, or even a weekend, because it’s so large that a rushed visit will leave you needing to come back. Don’t miss it if you’re visiting.

There’s also a restaurant and a souvenir shop, and cards are accepted. Around the centrally placed market square are old and reconstructed houses, each showing different trades, shops, and workshops from life in the late 19th and early 20th century. You walk from house to house, with a guide in each one explaining how people lived back then. Unfortunately, the guides speak only Polish. It’s a really nice place.
