Villa Nova Apartamenty

I felt welcome as soon as I arrived, and any questions or requests were dealt with quickly. The apartment was tidy and modern, with comfortable beds and everything well equipped. Shops, restaurants, and the main attractions were all nearby, which made getting around easy. A very pleasant, uncomplicated stay.

We eventually got into the apartment, but only after struggling with the door and having to use some force and bang on it. Getting in had already been a problem: the owner didn’t answer our calls or messages, then said he was at the pool and couldn’t take the call. He offered to come over, but said it would take 40 minutes. Since check-in was at 4 PM and we arrived after 5 PM, that would have eaten into our time in the city and caused more problems. The room itself wasn’t pleasant. It wasn’t very clean, with dirty handprints on the doors and kitchen cupboards, stains on the lamps, and a bad smell. The toilet seat was damaged and there were a few centimeters of limescale in the kettle. The hallway smelled of alcohol, and the people in the other rooms were loud. These so-called apartments were just separate rooms within one apartment, and we could hear absolutely everything through the wall. We contacted the owner to cancel and asked Booking for a refund. When he arrived, he laughed at how untidy the room was. We agreed that if Booking contacted him, he would approve the refund, and we left to find somewhere else to stay. For the next few days, we were told the same thing, but the owner stopped replying to our messages and texts. It took until about a week after the incident to sort out the refund through Booking. I highly recommend this property, and it’s definitely not worth visiting in Olsztyn.

The owner didn’t get back to us for several hours, and the place was loud, with people treating these “apartments” like a party spot. The entrance smelled of vodka. Inside, the room was dirty, the kettle had lots of limescale, and the toilet seat was broken. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear every breath from the neighbors. It felt like being in a dorm.

It’s a shame about the privacy, because the standard is otherwise really good. The rooms are separate parts of one apartment, with no soundproofing at all. Even normal conversation next door carries clearly. The balconies connect too, so you can end up awkwardly facing someone from the other room; there’s just one table between the two rooms, which would make sharing it a bit of a lottery. The place is centrally located and has good amenities, including a kitchenette, utilities, and a dishwasher. One room has its own bathroom, though you have to go through a shared area to reach it. Two nights was manageable, but I can’t imagine staying longer like this. A bamboo divider on the balcony and proper soundproofing would have helped.
