The meals were the highlight for us. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and over our two-week stay every dinner was different and genuinely delicious. The chef clearly knows what he’s doing, and the waitstaff were warm and professional. We could also arrange dinner later, which worked well after hiking or spending the day out in the mountains. Apart Home is a friendly, peaceful base for exploring the Kłodzko region, about 20 minutes from the city center. The owner was helpful, and our room was clean and pleasant. We’d happily stay here again if we return to the area, and recommend it for couples or families. There are a few things that could use attention. The garden and grounds feel sparse, the bathroom would benefit from an update, and a shower door would be better than the curtain. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the walls in rooms near reception don’t block much sound. With the owner’s continued effort and some more work on the property, I can see it becoming a really top-notch hotel in a year or two. Thanks for a great stay. Magdalena and Krzysztof

Breakfast was good, especially the tasty salads and bread, and the owners and staff were very nice. I’m rooting for them and wish them luck. Still, the rooms need a full renovation soon, particularly the bathrooms. The shower tray was awful, and having no large towels or coffee machine felt like a disgrace. Staff even had to check whether there was “coffee” in the thermos instead of simply serving breakfast.

The good breakfasts, friendly service, convenient location, and dog-friendly setup all count in its favor. But the rooms were poorly finished, the doors wouldn’t shut, and the bathroom was awkward to use. The shower was tiny, and sitting on the toilet meant folding yourself around the sink, which overlapped it. There were no bath towels or basic toiletries, apart from soap by the sink. Calling it a *** hotel on the website is a big exaggeration.

The kitchen was EXCELLENT, and the rooms were a good standard. The bathrooms were clean and looked after, though dated and in need of renovation. The owner hasn’t been running the guesthouse for long, but you can see the effort, and maybe in a year or two it’ll be five stars. I’d add proper bath towels. At the moment there are small hand towels and a bigger one for the floor by the shower. Full-size towels wouldn’t add much to the cost and would feel much better as a guest. I didn’t get to try dinner, though based on breakfast I’d guess it’s excellent. The 4-6 PM serving time is far too early for a mountain guesthouse. Cafes, waffle places and pastry shops in Polanica close even earlier than the rest of the town, which shuts at 10 PM, so those hours seem more suited to retirees and spa visitors than hikers. We were never back before 6, usually closer to 7, and would gladly have eaten until 8. We were hungry, and ended up spending that money with the competition. Best wishes and good luck.
