Bukowy Park Hotel Medical Spa

The food and drinks were a major letdown. The hotel says the juice is “100% real,” but it comes from a machine and tastes synthetic. The mulled wine was artificial too, and €7.50 for a tiny 0.2-liter serving felt like a scam. The meals looked unappetizing and had little flavor. The fruit selection was just tasteless oranges and plums, and the desserts seemed mass-produced, served in bulk, and never changed. On Christmas Eve there was only fish, with no alternative at all. That may fit a local tradition, but an international hotel should offer another choice for guests who don't eat fish. The spa was uninviting, with uncomfortably cold pool water and foam in the jacuzzi that made me question the hygiene or chemical balance. The rooms were gloomy and very dark, with furniture and decor that seemed untouched for decades. At €300 a night, twice the usual rate, I expected something brighter and more modern. Even the placement of the electrical sockets, as shown in the photo, meant turning the light on and off while trying to sleep. The spa felt old and below international standards. Service during Christmas dinner felt like mass processing. We were seated at 4:00 PM and pushed out by 6:00 PM, so it was more like an assembly line than a relaxed holiday meal. Management also seemed resistant to feedback. When we suggested using a cloth to hold the bread while cutting it for hygiene, they replaced it with a cheap piece of paper. That response showed little regard for basic hygiene or guest suggestions. My stay at Hotel Bukowy Park over Christmas was one disappointment after another, from the premium price to the quality of nearly every service. The outdated facilities, poor food, artificial drinks, and service left the €300 nightly rate unjustified. I wouldn't recommend it to international guests looking for quality and professional service.

The buffet at breakfast and dinner was excellent, and the rooms were pleasant and well equipped. The hotel is in a great spot near the spa park. Service can be slow, and the staff's English is limited. The wellness area is decent, but after 19:00 there is no attendant, towels run short, and rude guests take over the whirlpool for an hour, blocking the sunbeds at the same time.

I keep thinking about coming back here with my family. The calm, warm atmosphere, including in the spa, the tasty variety of high-quality food, and the children's facilities for all kinds of weather all made our visit special. The staff were welcoming and ready to help with anything at any time. After this year's stay, I can also say they were willing to address and compensate for any inconvenience that might come up, with guest comfort coming first.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners. The apartment complex also has a basic gym and a games room with billiards and other games, and our room was nice and clean. The wellness area was okay, but a larger sauna and a cooling room would be welcome. Since it's in the same shared space as the pool, you have to wear a swimsuit, and people often go straight from the pool into the sauna. That doesn't feel right :)
