Elite Apartments Garbary Old Town

A fair price, but too many basic things were missing. The apartment itself was clean and new, yet it was very hot and had no air conditioning. Being close to the centre also meant being on a busy, noisy road, so opening the window made it hard to sleep. The bathroom has no window or air vent, so getting fresh air in there was really difficult. There was no parking space set aside for the apartment, despite what the website said. We only heard about the parking problem after booking. The owner suggested other options that were easy to find, but we didn't want to leave the car on the street. There was also scaffolding on the building, which hadn't been mentioned.

We booked the flat in Jan 2020, but pandemic restrictions meant we couldn't travel. After a lot of back and forth, they issued a voucher, and we've now spent more than a year trying to use it or get our money back. They've been neither flexible nor helpful, so be aware.

We were travelling from Stockholm for our mother and grandmother's funeral, hoping to stay near the cemetery. Elite Apartments confirmed our reservation for five people on 8 March 2019, for five nights from 12 march. Then at 20.07 on the evening of 11 March, the night before check-in, they emailed to say there had been an availability error and cancelled it. They offered no compensation or alternative place, so we had to look for somewhere else at the last minute. We were fortunate to find accommodation ourselves, but couldn't find anything near the cemetery on such short notice. It caused a lot of stress when we should have been focused on the funeral and our grief. The way Elite Apartments handled it was very unprofessional, and they made no effort to help. I wouldn't recommend “Elite Apartments” to anyone.
