Very Berry - Polna 50 - Self Check In 24H

I’m writing this to warn people about Noclegi Renters (www.noclegi.renters.pl). My stay never happened, and after the way this was handled, I don’t recommend them. I have a strong feeling the same management issues could apply to any of their “superb” apartments. This whole thing felt like a scam. The review is specifically about the Very Berry property at Katowicka 2C, though I can’t find a place to leave a review for that location. I booked on January 28th for March 15th to 16th, and everything was confirmed and paid through Booking.com. The day before leaving, I called Vera Berry at Katowicka 2C to ask about extending my parking space. After seven hours trying to work out what had happened to my booking, I was told by email that it was invalid. They offered accommodation in a poor location, with a very high extra charge, which was outrageous. If I hadn’t called about the parking garage, I’d have discovered there was no accommodation only when I arrived at the property, practically in the dark. I can’t prove this, but I suspect they may have done it deliberately. When we booked, they probably didn’t know Poznań would have a big two-day sporting event for 5,000 people that weekend, and may have wanted to raise their prices. My opinion is that they gave my night to someone who paid more, without explaining anything or even notifying me. A year ago, a runner described something similar: she arrived at one of their apartments and was left kissing the doorknob. The apartments are unmanned, so there was no front desk staff to talk to in person. Reaching an actual human means wading through a lot of bots. Maybe my suspicion is wrong, but I was treated very poorly. Be careful, or you could end up stranded like I was.

The balcony was the reason I booked this apartment on Kochanowksiego Street, but it was covered in rubble. The windows were wrapped in plastic, and a worker on the scaffolding was drilling from 7 a.m. There was no chance to rest before a long day at work, and the place offered no comfort at all. The building is in ruins and surrounded by scaffolding, but nobody mentioned the ongoing facade and stairwell renovation when I booked. Finding the room was hard, especially at night, because there were no signs. The stairwell looked abandoned, with dust, mess, and bricks everywhere. It was so dark that even using a flashlight while carrying luggage was difficult. Customer service says they didn’t know about the renovation, though in an earlier conversation they said they were cleaning the balcony, which I doubt.

The apartment had all the equipment I needed, and getting in with the PIN was easy. Booking service was excellent.
