The food was outstanding and felt worth the price. I also liked the room, especially having a kettle and fridge, though the fridge didn’t quite work for us and we managed anyway. There was a water machine just outside our room; its lack of English instructions made it a little tricky, but we figured it out. The frustrating part was the water service: because of the poor English, I was given an extra Coke without asking and then charged extra for it. That wasn’t okay with me.

Room 203 was spacious and had everything we needed for our Karate weekend. When we reported that the fridge wasn’t working, the manager fixed it quickly. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room, and a water machine right outside. We were near the lifts and stairs, with only a short walk to reception and the dining room. Breakfast looked nicely laid out, though it wasn’t to our taste. One of the evening restaurant staff, a gentleman, was especially pleasant and helpful. Most of the other staff came across as rather abrupt or unhelpful. Maybe that was a language or cultural difference, but it affected our stay. The manager was lovely and very helpful on the two occasions we dealt with him, and the staff’s attitude seemed to improve towards the end.

This was my third stay, and breakfast was the same dishes every day for all seven days, just like on my previous visits. They didn’t even change the mattresses during the week. The staff seem indifferent, as if wondering why you’re there making them busy 🤣. It feels much more like a motorway hotel. How did this place get all those stars?

The restaurant on site is a nice extra, with a pretty good breakfast and plenty of coffee. There’s also free parking outside, which is handy. My room was just an average, standard hotel room. Nothing spectacular, but it’ll do, and it’s a decent place to spend a few days away from home.
