The missing restaurant is what keeps this at four stars for me. Dolce Vita downstairs used to serve proper meals, but now it’s more of a café for ice cream, desserts, coffee, tea, cakes and crepes. Still, it’s a good upper-end B+B by Polish standards, right in the heart of Pszczyna.

That ice cream is unbelievable. The food is nice too, and I love the square. Excellent place.

The staff were amazing, and the breakfast was great. You’re right in the town centre, too.

Breakfast was very nice, and so was the hotel.

The location is just about the only positive. Room 6 is a dump: there’s no window, just a small roof vent, and fan noise keeps coming through it. The bed is narrow and wedged between the walls, so getting into it means squeezing in from the foot. There’s no wardrobe, and although the bed frame looks elegant, it isn’t practical. Breakfast is an elegant-looking mess, with cold food and fussy presentation.
