Pensjonat Kociuś

Dust, hair, and all sorts of mess were left around the room. The toilet and shower were dirty, and the bathroom was dark. The water came out with barely any pressure, like from a faucet. It was a disaster, and I can’t recommend it. With things in such a state, I don’t know how there are positive reviews.

The one bright spot was the young man at reception. He was kind, organized, answered questions, and looked after everyone. In my view, he should own the guesthouse. Otherwise, Kocius left a lot to be desired. Our room wasn’t up to standard: the carpet was full of sand and hadn’t been vacuumed, so my husband had to do it, and there were stains on the flooring. The Wi-Fi was a disaster. The staff were disappointing, too. The manager seemed dazed and uninterested in guests, while the young woman handling breakfast and cleaning looked offended and unhappy with her life. Breakfast itself was okay, but the coffee machine couldn’t keep up and the wait was very long. Even the beach was better than the one there.

It’s hard to imagine finding better accommodation for this price. The center and the sea are each no more than a five-minute walk away. The guesthouse has a calm, family-like feel, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is simple but delicious. There’s a playground behind the building, making it well suited to families with kids, and two cuddly cats kept us company throughout our stay. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The location is a real highlight: the beach is a five-minute walk away, the narrow-gauge train station takes 15 minutes on foot, and the market square is 10 minutes away. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond, giving 150%, not just 100%. Just keep in mind this isn’t a five-star hotel, so don’t expect that level of quality. For a budget room, you get a bed, bathroom with toilet and shower, TV, desk with kettle, cabinets, and a balcony. I still give it five stars.
