Retro Apartments

The windows are covered with advertising mesh, so hardly any light gets into the room and you don’t get the promised “city view.” Soundproofing is poor too. We could hear every word our neighbors said as if they were in our room, and the plumbing was very loud. The sheets smelled so strongly of perfume that I got a headache and could barely breathe. It seemed like they might be trying to cover a sewage smell. Opening the windows didn’t help us sleep: drunk teenagers were drinking, shouting and fighting below, there was a disco in the neighboring building, and glass bottles were flying around. It was loud and aggressive, and I was scared for our car parked nearby, which we paid 50 zlotys for. The teenagers didn’t leave until after midnight, and earplugs didn’t help. We stayed Wednesday to Thursday, not even on a weekend. When we called the number listed on Booking, they couldn’t help at all. Horrible place, please don’t stay here.

I went to the apartment late at night with my son, but they gave me a key to the wrong room. No one was there, but their belongings were, including a credit card and passport on the bed. I eventually reached the owner or manager, and the first thing they said was that I wasn’t getting my money back. I went to stay at embasador hotel, five minutes away. A truly terrible place. I’d never recommend it.

The rooms are tiny, hostel-style, and smelly, dirty and worn. It’s VERY loud, with a club next door and a takeaway shop below. You can hear the neighbors as if they’re right in your room.

This was advertised falsely as apartments, but it’s a hostel. It was clean and well decorated, sure, but still a hostel. When you book an apartment, you get a small bedroom and an even smaller bathroom, while the kitchen and living room are shared across two floors by 7/8 rooms.
