The restaurant was the clear highlight of our six-night stay. Its food was creative, tasty, and genuinely high quality, and the chef deserves a Michelin star. The spa treatment for couples was spot on, with friendly, professional staff. The pool, jacuzzi, and both saunas were clean and at comfortable temperatures. The pool is only about 12 m long and fairly deep, and some of its underwater massage features weren’t working that week. The jacuzzi was relaxing when it wasn’t busy, with a view of the lake and forest. Some sauna facilities, like the water fountain, were also out of order or possibly broken. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Katowice airport and sits among beautiful forest and a small lake. The surrounding forest feels endless, great for walks or cycling, though bikes weren’t available in winter. Siewierz is a ten-minute drive for basic shopping or dinner. The road through the forest feels rough and off-road, so it’s not ideal in a sports car. From outside the hotel looks modern and attractive. Our room, number 110, was dated and very basic, though it had a small functional bathroom, TV, fridge, and kettle. The beds were far too soft, and the air conditioning thermostat didn’t work. The room kept getting boiling hot, so we had to open the window every day. We asked reception to lower the temperature, but nothing happened. On the first day the main door lock and shower were broken; both were fixed that day. After four days we asked for a room clean. The towels were changed, but the sheets weren’t, and the coffee mugs were left dirty. The restaurant itself was elegant with plenty of tables, but the menu was very small. They had no alcohol-free beer for the whole week. Breakfast was a basic self-service spread with few hot and cold options. The coffee was horrible however I tried it, and I have no idea what kind of dark roast it was. The biggest problem started when we booked. My partner saw the hotel’s “Sen dla Dwojga” offer and chose it. The price went up by 40%, but the website said it included breakfast and lunch or dinner as half board, two restaurant vouchers, and one spa treatment. We had screenshots, and it looked like an obvious deal. At check-in, reception said “it’s not like that” and claimed we’d misunderstood, even though the description in both languages said breakfast and lunch or dinner were included. They said the offer only covered one spa treatment and two restaurant vouchers. No one at reception spoke with the manager or tried to sort it out, so we were left without the dinners we thought we’d paid for. I’m no rocket scientist, but that’s false advertising. We wanted a relaxing retreat and didn’t want to make a scene after getting nowhere with the receptionist, so we gave up rather than look like a “Karen.” It felt extremely overpriced for what was actually offered. The restaurant meals were the only part that felt special; everything else was average. Reception service on arrival was poor, and the rooms and interior are dated. We’d been choosing between this place and MOLO Resort in Osiek, which we know well. This time we went with Katowice and Siewierz Natura Hotel. We had high expectations, but the experience was average for the price.
This felt like a three-star hotel, not four, and I was very disappointed. Our room was 28 degrees when we arrived because the air conditioning wasn’t working. You could only switch it on or off at reception, with no way to set the temperature. We had to climb onto the table to reach the window blinds. Breakfast was tiny, just one bread and one cheese, and the dairy was sitting in a warm room in midsummer instead of being kept cold. We were looking forward to the spa, but at check-in the receptionist said it opened at 8 a.m. We went at 9 and it was still shut. Then we were told the sauna needed to be reserved and heated for two hours, so we never used it. Before coming, we called to check whether the restaurant had vegetarian food. The staff couldn’t tell us and said we’d have to arrive at 9 p.m. and see if the chef would make something. They didn’t ask the chef or even check the menu. The place looks nice, but service was lacking. I’d tell people to find a cheaper option elsewhere.
The restaurant served good food, though its distinctive menu felt too posh for me, and the prices were much too high. They had a very good selection of local beers, with the lager a real hit. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms clean and nice, although the beds were a little too soft. The pool and spa facilities were very good, but the changing and shower area felt a bit neglected. It’s a quiet spot in the forest near Katowice airport. Overall, it was a good stay, but the prices didn’t feel justified, especially when kitchen smells reached the lobby and hotel corridors.
There’s a spa with an indoor pool, jacuzzi, and a couple of saunas, and the hotel is well suited to group events. They’re very good at hosting those. It feels close to the city and far from it at the same time, which makes for a great location. The meals were nice and the staff very pleasant. I’d recommend Natura Residence for a weekend away, team building, or conferences.
Getting a ride early in the morning can be difficult, so make sure you’ve arranged a taxi ahead of time.
