We only stayed one night, thankfully. After a 70-kilometer bike ride we were exhausted, and with no other option we decided to stick it out. The bedding was poor and the furniture worn out, while ants were everywhere. There were also plenty of problems around the apartment, including a broken toilet, dirty walls and a dirty fridge. The first thing that hit us when we walked in was the sewer smell. This place has seen much better days.

We were driving from Poland to the Netherlands and wanted a place to rest without making the trip too long. For five people, the €90 price was a plus, though this felt more like a slightly upscale student house than a proper apartment. The air conditioning kept the room pleasantly cool, and I did sleep well on the firm sofa bed. Getting in was a little unclear at first, but after we messaged through the booking app, we quickly heard that our son was on his way. The parking area behind the gate was cluttered with trash, bikes, mopeds and cars. I think three cars belonged to residents, and we just managed to squeeze ours in. With our packed car and no plans to unpack much, it was a shame that only one vehicle could fit behind the gate. The layout wasn't what we'd expected from an earlier review we saw after booking. One bedroom is open to the living area, with the kitchen, round table and very heavy metal chairs all in the same space. A bathroom with a toilet is reached from there, but its door doesn't lock. The other bedroom is separate, beside a small bathroom where some lights didn't work or were missing covers. Its large, sturdy shower has a wide showerhead and back massage jets. Both bedroom and bathroom doors stick badly, and that bathroom doesn't lock either. We didn't feel like showering, given the dirty bathroom floor and the generally grimy feel of the place. There was dirt on the light switches and bathroom drawers, dead insects on the floor, dirty dishes, and the oven was filthy and smelled when switched on. The kitchen had one small, used sponge and no dishwasher. Bring a sponge or brush and tea towels if you need them. Baking paper and an oven mitt would also have been useful for a short stay. The cupboard beside the oven was coming apart at the seams, which made the oven awkward to open and close. The dining area sits at a different height from the kitchen, leaving little room to move the chairs. The patterned floor makes it hard to see where it slopes, so you have to watch your step. Other people lived next door and didn't bother us, but their dogs were left outside while they were away and barked at their door. In the morning there was dog poop by our car and the front entrance. The sewer smell also made us worry it might come up into the apartment. Some smaller things added to the scruffy impression: the curtains weren't hung properly on one side, and nice jazz musician photos were left on the floor, one beside a screw in the wall and another with its fixing broken off. My son thought the sofa wasn't a bed, so we pushed the two sofas together. When I tried, I found it did fold out easily. The sofa bed was hard, but I slept fine on it. All the same, I wouldn't book here again.

The hosts were fantastic, and the apartment had everything we needed. It's huge and cozy, with two roomy beds and two luxurious bathrooms. The showers get really hot. There are three electric heaters, and the place warms up in about five minutes. The kitchen was fully equipped too. Parking is right in the courtyard behind the gate. We'd happily come back. The owners were friendly, and the apartment was furnished with care in a quiet residential neighborhood of a lovely Polish city. Parking is inside the fenced property, with video surveillance. Great value for the money. My wife will definitely take some photos 😊
