The owners were cheerful and kind, and the apartment was only a few dozen feet from the lake. In warmer weather, we’d have tried kayaking or renting pedal boats. There are woods and lakes nearby for walks, and the village itself is interesting to explore, with, if I remember right, a 19th-century cottage and sheepfold, plus a lovely church on a slight rise beside the lake. The apartment had everything needed to cook, comfortable mattresses, a roomy bathroom, and was clean. The owner also left us fresh farm eggs, a thoughtful surprise. This time of year it was quiet and peaceful. The place has a lot of charm, and the building feels like it has a story.

The country setting brought back my childhood, especially seeing cows in the fields. We got to milk them, drink fresh milk, and wander across the lovely open meadows. There was horseback riding too, so we had plenty to do. Our room was spacious, with a kitchenette that had what we needed. When we wanted anything extra, the hostess brought it over easily. The bathroom was fine, and every room has its own entrance and a little terrace, just right for coffee. Screens on the windows and doors kept the bugs out. The hosts were kind and helpful. It’s a real farm stay, so you get the smells of animals and fields too :) I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.

The cottage terrace was especially nice in the evenings, and we could barbecue. The lake is close by. We stayed with our small child, who settled in happily, with plenty of toys, a trampoline, and a gazebo to enjoy. The hosts were so friendly, and the animals and countryside feel made the stay. We were welcomed with farm eggs, fresh cheese, and yeast cake. Delicious 😀. I’d recommend it if you like a rural atmosphere.

You can go walking, ride horses, fish, or do water sports at the nearby lake. It’s a proper taste of the countryside, with the smell of cows, horses, and hay. If that’s something you enjoy and look forward to, you’ll feel at home here. The hosts are caring and fantastic.
