We stayed five nights at Hotel Testa and had a lovely spring break with family. They were arranging a wedding in Sopot for the same time next year, and we'll definitely stay here for it if the hotel is available. Our third-floor room was airy and bright, with a sofa and a balcony looking into the garden. Large trees rose to balcony level, making for a magnificent and peaceful outlook. The hotel itself is fairly new, with an intimate feel because it's small, and a minimalist style. Reception and all the other staff we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included as a buffet, with cooked options too. We could order extra hot items, such as omelettes or bacon with fried eggs, and they were always fresh. The beach is less than 100 metres away, just a few minutes on foot. The hotel is on a private road with gated beach access, and bikes and deckchairs are available to borrow or hire. We didn't use the spa, since we were out with family staying elsewhere in Sopot most of the day. The beach is lovely but gets busy on weekends and in summer. There's a seaside promenade and a cycle path, plus plenty of local restaurants and amenities. You can even cycle into central Gdansk, about 13 km or 45 minutes away.

We couldn't get a hot tub or sauna slot after 6pm, since the hotel only allows people from one room to use them at a time. It would help if guests were told at check-in to book right away.

The breakfast was excellent, and the servers were accommodating. The location is fantastic, but the front desk service was horrible, especially from one person. The lobby service was ghastly. An arrogant, rude, disrespectful boy treated us badly, with no integrity or professionalism. We work in the same industry and have never been treated like this. We've stayed at the Sheraton for years and tried this place for a change, but we won't recommend it. The spa and gym are basic, and it's sad that one person can damage the reputation for everyone. This didn't feel like a five-star stay.

Hotel Testa felt like home during our ten-day summer stay. My family and I loved being so close to the beach, and making use of the hotel's bikes was great. The restaurant serves excellent food, and the staff are both friendly and professional. We'll definitely stay here again!

We found a lovely spot away from the crowds in Sopot. Dinner at Testa's restaurant was an unexpected treat, with creative, flavourful food and friendly service. The virgin cocktails and creme brulee are worth trying.
