Sopotiera Pokoje Goscinne Hostel

I come back here whenever I visit Sopot. The rooms have been clean and pleasant, and the location is great.

The room was tiny and sadly furnished, with cobwebs on the walls. A streetlamp right outside the window shone in all night, and there was nowhere to keep bicycles.

I stayed four days in this hotel/hostel, which is set in a converted apartment building. My room had a bunk bed, small kitchen, bathroom and dining table. I could check in early, and the location was excellent: an easy walk to the beach, bus stop, taxi, jetty, supermarkets and a pharmacy. The room itself was in poor shape. The bathroom badly needs renovation, the shower door kept falling off, and everything looked old, worn and covered in limescale. There were little flies in the room, the table lamp didn’t work, and cleanliness was lacking. It was also disappointing that I never found anyone on-site to answer questions. Fine for two or three nights if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

Sopotiera works well for vacationers who spend the day out and come back to sleep. It’s just a few minutes from the beach, and the staff are friendly. One thing to plan for: reception is at a different address, so it helps to know that before you arrive. The rooms have simple furnishings and have clearly been used for a few years. They could do with a fresh coat of paint.
