Yellow House Lodging

A disastrous stay. We regretted entering as soon as we saw the apartment, but we’d already paid and couldn’t cancel. It’s a tiny room, barely suited to two people, with no balcony, and I wouldn’t call it an apartment. The booking photos are stretched and give a misleading impression of the room and bed. The room was hot and stuffy, with no air conditioning. The windows face the hot side, but we couldn’t open them because of heavy traffic and people celebrating until early morning. The supposed bedroom has no window, and you reach the bed through a narrow gap in the corner. The bed is narrow, the mattress was unsuitable for sleeping, the pillows were awful, and the gray bedding was dirty and torn. For two people over four days, we got two medium, faded gray towels with holes, then found two more on the sofa. There were no hand towels or bath mat. The only free toiletry was liquid soap from Leviathan. The bathroom socket beneath the radiator didn’t work. One washing-machine foot was lying beside it; we put it back and adjusted the machine so we could finish the laundry. Getting breakfast was a mess too. The place was 800 meters away, but the address on our voucher led our navigation to the railway tracks and a business. The receptionist told us not to use navigation and gave no directions. We spent an hour asking people before finding it. That whole breakfast arrangement was unacceptable. There are also extra parking charges: 160 PLN in the lot next to the building, or about 90 PLN per day for street parking. There are two spaces 50 meters away and five more 200-300 meters away. Collecting the room keys is prohibited, and driving into the building where reception is located gets you a ticket. The apartment entrance is hard to spot, between two bars crowded with tables and guests. If something goes wrong, the owner can’t be reached after 5 PM and doesn’t answer. We also found that the stay was non-refundable. The place and the company that owns it ruined our trip. We won’t return and can’t recommend either.

Jan I remember the stay in this cottage very fondly. The windows couldn’t be opened because the street noise was unbearable. With them shut and the ventilation on, a terrible smell came from the bathroom. Cockroaches also crawled out of the holes near the shower.

The location is fantastic, close to everything. The apartment is nice, with a large bathroom, good towels and bedding, and everything we needed. I recommend it.

The rooms were clean and had plenty of equipment, and Monciak is nearby. At night, though, you can hear people partying, so it gets noisy.
