A lovely place with a lot of history.

We went to Śródka Palace for dinner, though it also has the kind of atmosphere that would suit a special lunch. The old walls and elegant details give the place a rich, historic feel, but the interior still feels warm and comfortable. It made a relaxed meal for two feel a little celebratory. My wife had the beetroot salad with caramelized pear, a nice mix of fresh and sweet, along with fruit tea. I started with the pan-fried shrimp with garlic, parsley, and bread. The shrimp were juicy and fragrant, and the bread was great for soaking up the flavors. For mains, she chose the roasted half duck with apple, homemade steamed dumplings, red cabbage, and cranberries. The meat was tender and well seasoned, and the sides were classic and tasty. I had the Tournedos Rossini, beef tenderloin on toast with fried goose pâté, black truffle, and Madeira sauce. It was rich and full of flavor, with a refined restaurant feel. We sat for a while afterward over coffee and enjoyed the setting. The service was attentive and efficient, and we had a very good experience, especially suited to dinner for two.
