There’s lots of greenery, a fireplace, and cozy rooms with bunk beds, and the owners are friendly. You’ll find a small fridge, dishes and cutlery, a little stove, and pots and pans. Cell service is poor in this area, so be ready for that, though at least there’s Wi-Fi. It’s an ideal getaway from the city in Śnieżnicki Landscape Park, with nearby trails including Śnieżnik Mountain, the Bear Cave, and the uranium mine.

The owners are really friendly and helpful. Mr. Jarek can suggest where to go and what to see, help identify rocks you find, arrange entry to Bear Cave, and point out the single-track bike trails. The cottage is roomy enough for four and has a fireplace you can use. It’s close to Śnieżnik, Bear Cave, the Uranium Mine, the Museum of the Earth, and plenty of other attractions. There’s also a peaceful meadow with a fireplace and barbecue area, forest, and a pond stocked with fish. The biggest draw for tourists is a private mineral slag heap at the back of the plot. Water runs over it and washes minerals out of the ground, so you can mine and collect them. It’s a quiet place with fresh air and a real sense of calm.

You burn wood here and can smell it, which gives the place a great atmosphere. I’d recommend going while you still can, since the modern accommodations being built nearby may soon take over the area. It’s a shame.

A gracious host and a great base for hiking or visiting other nearby attractions. It’s especially nice in winter with the fireplace going. I’d recommend it to anyone after a peaceful atmosphere who doesn’t want to show off their wealth to other vacationers.
