Hotel Podklasztorze

Breakfast had a great spread of fruit, bread, pastries, and toppings, plus a juicer for fresh apple, carrot, and orange juice. The forest and lake nearby are lovely for walks or biking. I also liked all the places to lounge, from hammocks to swings. The pools were a nice extra, with saunas, a jacuzzi, foot baths, and showers. My favorite spot was the little circular loft near the observatory, with a big mattress and pillows, good for cards with friends, reading, or watching something on your phone. I meant to use it once, but another group was there that time.

A nice choice for a city break if you want to be near a larger town but still away from the city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though there's no AC. It's also very family-friendly, with dedicated playrooms and swimming toys in the pool. We had an amazing stay and got some good rest.

We loved the hotel and all it offers, and we'd come back for sure. The staff were so kind and made our stay comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious, especially being able to make fresh juice from fruit and vegetables. The SPA was perfect, with two saunas and a big pool.

We left early, and even though we didn't ask for a refund or discount, the email confirmation of our payment wasn't accepted. We waited 30 minutes and then paid the full price. Nobody asked why we were leaving or seemed interested in our dissatisfaction, or in what they could do to make things right or improve for future guests. The unresolved room issues, which had been reported earlier, say a lot about this place. We won't return and will tell our friends to avoid it. Disappointing. The stay wasn't close to 4-star standard. Room 103 had no number plate in the hallway. A review from two weeks earlier had mentioned peeling wallpaper and water damage in that room, and neither issue had been fixed. Noise from the gym two floors up continued until 10pm, and children were jumping around in the room above us well past then. It wasn't suitable for children who go to bed at 8pm. Everyone walking to their rooms passes by this room, so you hear everything in the hallway. The pool was packed with wild kids, the opposite of relaxing, and the hot tub was green. Children kept going in and out of the steam room, with safety issues everywhere. The spa service was austere. My so-called relaxing massage was just oil rubbed over my body for 50 minutes, and it was overpriced. The children's program wasn't explained or run well. At check-in, nobody mentioned that hot chocolate was free. Later, we had to ask for the options menu, and they said they hadn't given it to us because it was printed only in Polish, which we could have translated ourselves. The next day, waffles for the kids took 45 minutes because the machine was broken, but nobody was telling guests. Another family let us know ice cream was available instead. Even that took another 20 minutes after we ordered it.
