Hotel Polaris

The pool was a real plus, warm at 30 degrees, open from early morning until late evening, and with a nice whirlpool bath. The pool floor could use a fresh coat of paint, though, and the pool staff weren't very friendly. The massage was okay but very light rather than firm. Annoying music playing over the speakers made it hard to relax during the treatment. The hotel is close to the promenade and beach, with some great restaurants nearby, including Kurna Chata. We had a spacious room, but no blackout curtains, and it felt a bit damp inside, so we needed to keep the windows open. Seagulls started making noise at 4 in the morning. Bring earplugs and a sleep mask. The towels never dried in the bathroom, but we could get fresh ones each day. The beds were good, though the extra bed for another person was a horrible sofa bed. There's no air conditioning, and we were lucky it wasn't too hot outside. At 30 degrees, I can imagine the room being too warm for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was okay with enough choice. It's an old hotel that could use renovation, but still nice. Staff were okay, though sometimes seemed annoyed. The internet connection was unstable and sometimes unavailable. Some other rooms had nice balconies. All in all, good value for the money.
