Stawa Hostel

The receptionist was so kind, and the service was great. We also enjoyed the plentiful breakfast and had a really good stay.

We rented bikes from the hotel for a day and that worked out fine. Our clean room at Stawa Villa & Apartament was great for two, and breakfast had a nice range of dishes. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

Our apartment had a bedroom, bathroom, pentry, and bedsofa, and we liked it a lot. Being right in the city center meant everything was close, with the huge beach just a 15-minute walk away. Hotel breakfast was available for a price, but since we had a pentry, we bought breakfast at the nearby supermarket.

The location is handy, near the city center and beach, but I didn't feel safe or as if I were on vacation there. Late at night, strange people were smoking outside the complex, which added to the uneasy feeling. The whole place felt more like a dormitory than a hostel, and I can't recommend it. I'm puzzled that it has such high ratings given the misleading way the rooms are presented online and how poor the stay was. I booked through the Stawa Apart Hostel website because the photos and description made it look clean and comfortable. In reality, the room I got was nothing like the pictures, even though I knew I had booked a room with a shared bathroom. The bedding was unwashed, there were unpleasant smells, dust, and dirt everywhere, and I found a bug crawling on the bed that looked like a bedbug. I raised this with reception and was offered a better room for one night at the same price. That room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and I still worried about bedbugs. The staff did try to deal with the problem, but the overall experience was far below acceptable. I left after one night.
