Vulcan Hotel

For 240 PLN a night, I'd expect a cleaner place. The carpets and furniture had stains and badly needed refurbishment, and the whole hotel felt shabby and in need of a proper clean. The location wasn't especially convenient, though I did find the shipyard charming. On the better side, the bathroom was clean, the room had been vacuumed and dusted, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was nice with a few vegetarian choices.

The staff at reception and in the restaurant were amazingly kind and polite, in a very genuine way. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, including vegan food. I had a spacious, clean, comfortable double room with a view of the shipyard cranes, machinery, and buildings, which I really liked. The only trouble was noise from other guests late at night, since the walls and doors don't block sound well. The hotel is beside a shipyard, and there's a tram stop right outside the entrance. I stayed one night while traveling around Poland, and I'd definitely recommend it and come back.

The receptionists were very kind, and the location was quite nice. But our room on the first floor facing the street got some tram noise. The cleaning wasn't great: there were two big spiders and a lot of dust, and over our three-night stay the room wasn't cleaned once. We had to ask reception for toilet paper several times, and for towels when we arrived, since there were only two sets for four of us.

The rooms are generally fine, but the hotel is full of spiders, indoors and out. If you open a window, dozens of large ones seem to get in, and staff don't seem too concerned. The spiders above the entrance and outside the windows are huge and horrifying. A friend even said he saw a small tarantula man. Most of the staff weren't very friendly, apart from one or two women at reception.
