Cristal Resort

The couches could use replacing or a refresh; sleeping on one for three nights wasn't comfortable. Otherwise, it’s a practical, pleasant hotel. Our apartment had a kitchen and a separate bedroom, and the hotel offers a nice breakfast, an indoor pool, a warm outdoor whirlpool, two small saunas, and a little kids’ room that might fit about three children. We enjoyed a short winter break with the kids, helped by the weather. There’s forest and a playground outside, a walking path to groceries takes about 20 minutes, and the ski area is a three-minute drive away. This was our second visit to a Cristal resort in Szklarska poreba. Thank you.

The restaurant was a favorite, and the staff were really nice, restocking things like cups and milk right away. Our room was very clean, and I loved the bedside control panel for the lamps. I did hear people partying in another room, but it wasn't too bad and could have been worse. Such a lovely hotel for a weekend, though maybe someone should fix the chair legs, lol.

The pool and yard attendant was the nicest person there, 20+ from me for him. The rooms are really good, and breakfast is quite good too. I wasn't happy that parking costs extra, that the receptionist got impatient and angry when I asked questions, or that in ten days nobody changed the sheets or cleaned the room. The hotel itself is nice.

We were unhappy with the stay because of the particular apartment we had, a two-story unit. It was dark, with only roof windows, and the light they let in wasn't enough. We had chosen a “room overlooking the mountains,” and technically it did, but the windows were above eye level. The bedroom upstairs had a better view, though we didn't spend our time there. The poor lighting made the place feel like a basement instead of a mountain resort. Another room, ideally one with a balcony, might make for a much better stay. There are some good things here. The hotel is well located for natural sights like the mountains and waterfalls, as well as the National Park. Our room was clean and tidy, and there’s a good range of wellness options, including skin treatments and massages. The pool area is pleasant, but undersized for a hotel this large. It has a small pool, one outdoor jacuzzi, and two small saunas, one dry and one wet. With 12-15 people, it feels crowded. The hotel also doesn't operate like a traditional hotel: there’s no daily room service, though you can ask for fresh towels, and there was no water or instant coffee in the room when we arrived. Guests have to wash the dishes before leaving. There’s no way to call reception, so you have to walk there. The TV is very old, about 28 inches, though there’s a decent selection of analog channels. Parking is charged too.
