The house is quite old, and the rooms and bathrooms really need attention. Our room was very dirty, with a badly stained carpet and other people's hairs everywhere; the bathrooms were old and dirty too. There's no room service, so you have to ask for things like clean towels and toilet paper. The location is very quiet among the trees, and breakfast was good and plentiful.
The garden is lovely, the windows look out onto a beautiful view, and the staff are very friendly. The food is decent, too. It's a historic building in a great spot, close to the trails and the center of Szklarska Poręba, and it isn't only for wealthy tourists. Still, the guesthouse needs a lot of investment from the owner to bring it up to date.
The location is the main plus. The parking area is poor, the service only average, and the rooms looked much nicer in the listing photos than they do in person. With temperatures below zero outside, the radiators were cold. The price doesn't match those conditions.
The staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful, and the rooms are modest but clean and smell fresh. They could do with an update, but that didn't bother me much since the rooms are still in use. It's a quiet, tucked away place to unwind after hiking, without the crowds. I'll probably return here, or perhaps to Runner's Cottage, which apparently has the same owners. A good pick if you're after a relaxing break.
The historic building gives the guesthouse a lovely interior, and it's in a beautiful location. Service was friendly, and breakfast was excellent.
