Gotyk Hotel

I was in a clean, cosy, comfortable single room, right in the old town center and within walking distance of everything. The location is great. Breakfast could have been better.

I really like this place, especially the location and interiors. The rooms are spotless and worth the price. I ordered dinner through room service, but it didn’t arrive on time, perhaps because they forgot to prepare it. I had to go downstairs and remind them, then it came 15 minutes later. Even if you’re not staying here, you can visit for a standard Polish breakfast.

It’s a distinctive hotel with plenty of charm, set in the old town near restaurants, bars, and the gingerbread shops Torun is known for. The reception staff were friendly, and the cleaning ladies did a great job. Finding a little gingerbread on my pillow was a cute, fitting touch. My room was quaint and nicely equipped, though it was starting to feel a little old. It still had lots of character, and the air conditioning was a must during the Polish summer. The one real letdown was the pillow, which was very large and soft.

We didn’t have time to sit down for breakfast, so they gave us nice sandwiches and fruit to take along in the morning. The staff spoke good English and were helpful. The bed was good and the service was okay. One of our rooms faced the street and was noisy, but the other was quiet. For Torun, it’s a pretty good hotel at a very good price, a few hundred meters from the town center.
